Pricing

Simple, fair, per-journey.

Pay only for the journeys you take, scaled to your family. Every unlock is a one-time purchase — no subscriptions, no recurring fees, no upsells.

Journey 1

Citizenship Certificate

The full citizenship-by-descent application package — eligibility analysis, lineage documentation, evidence gathering, CIT 0001 + CIT 0014 + CIT 0555 forms, ready to print and mail.

First applicant $16 USD
Each additional applicant + $4 USD
Journey 2 · Coming shortly after launch

Passport Application

The first-adult Canadian passport journey — PPTC 153 with PPTC 132 statutory-declaration support for applicants outside Canada. Available once a citizenship certificate is in hand.

First applicant $6 USD
Each additional applicant + $2 USD

What's purchasable at initial release: the Citizenship Certificate journey à la carte (above) and all four "All In!" bundles (below). The Passport Application journey ships in Stage 2 — bundle purchases are honored automatically when it arrives. See the release plan →

Journeys are independent: unlock either, both, or one now and the other later. Adding applicants is always available, any time. Because every unlock is a one-time purchase, applicant counts can only grow — they don't downgrade. Pay only for who you're filing for, when you're filing for them.

Bundle and save

Know your family up front?

Lock in both journeys at once for less than buying à la carte. Bundles entitle, they never lock — unused applicant slots stay available indefinitely.

Worked examples

What does this cost a real family?

Five common scenarios. All amounts in USD, one-time, no subscriptions. You'll see the exact total before any purchase.

Just me, citizenship only

Single applicant. Pursuing the Canadian citizenship certificate, not the passport (yet).

Citizenship · 1 applicant$16
Total$16 USD

Just me, both journeys

Single applicant. Citizenship certificate first, passport application after.

Citizenship · 1 applicant$16
Passport · 1 applicant$6
À la carte$22 USD
Or bundle: Just Me — All In!$20 USD save $2

My spouse and me

Two applicants claiming through the same lineage. Both journeys.

Citizenship · 2 applicants$16 + $4 = $20
Passport · 2 applicants$6 + $2 = $8
À la carte$28 USD
Or bundle: Just Us — All In!$25 USD save $3

Multi-generation family of six

Two parents, two children, plus a sibling and that sibling's child. Both journeys, all six applicants.

Citizenship · 6 applicants$16 + ($4 × 5) = $36
Passport · 6 applicants$6 + ($2 × 5) = $16
À la carte$52 USD

Pricing questions

The fine print, in plain English.

What's actually purchasable at initial release?

The Citizenship Certificate journey à la carte (first applicant $16 USD, +$4 USD per additional applicant), plus all four "All In!" bundles. Bundles cover both journeys; the Passport Application journey ships in Stage 2 and your bundle entitles you to it at that point at no extra cost. See the full release plan →

What happens if the Passport journey never ships?

We're going to ship it — we wouldn't be offering bundles today if we weren't. But you know how it goes: sometimes things happen outside of anyone's control. If something unexpected keeps the Passport journey from reaching your phone, your bundle still covers the Citizenship Certificate journey for every applicant you've added. There's no refund on the bundle savings — instead, think of buying a bundle today as your investment in our future, and in the families we'll get to help next, alongside yours. The per-bundle savings are our thank-you for coming along for the ride.

Why per journey, not a flat unlock?

Not everyone needs both journeys. Some people just want the citizenship certificate; some only need the passport because they already have a certificate. Charging for both when you only use one isn't fair. Per-journey lets you pay only for what you use.

What does "additional applicant" mean?

Anyone else in your family claiming Canadian citizenship through the same ancestor — a sibling, parent, child, or anyone else who shares the lineage you've documented. Every additional applicant is a separate IRCC application with their own forms, signature, and supporting evidence, but they reuse the shared evidence you've already gathered.

Can I add more applicants after I've already paid?

Yes, any time. Discover a sibling who wants to apply six months after you do? Add them then. You'll pay the per-additional-applicant amount for that journey ($4 for citizenship, $2 for passport) and the new applicant slots into your existing tree without you having to rebuild anything.

Can I downgrade or remove applicants?

No. Because every unlock is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, applicant counts only grow — they don't decrease. If you add an applicant who later decides not to file, their data stays in your tree (you can hide them from view), but the unlock isn't refunded. Pay for what you'll use.

What if I buy a bundle and don't fill every applicant slot?

That's fine. Bundles entitle you to up to N applicants — they don't force you to file for everyone. Unused slots stay available indefinitely; if a sibling or child decides to join three years later, you slot them in at no additional cost. As with everything in the pricing model, unused slots are non-refundable.

What if my family grows past my bundle?

You have two options and the app picks the cheaper one automatically. Either pay the per-additional-applicant rate for the extras ($4 each for citizenship, $2 each for passport), or — if you'll have enough new applicants to justify it — step up to the next bundle tier and pay just the difference. You're never quietly charged the more expensive path.

I already unlocked something à la carte. Can I still get the bundle discount?

Yes. The app calculates the cheapest path between paying additional à la carte and graduating into a bundle. If a bundle saves you money for what you're about to add, the app credits what you've already paid and charges you the delta. If à la carte stays cheaper for your specific family shape, you keep going à la carte. The default is always whichever costs you less.

Are the prices the same on iOS and Android?

Yes. Apple's App Store and Google Play both list the same per-journey and per-additional prices in USD; local stores convert to your currency at the platform's current exchange rate.

What about refunds?

Refunds are handled by Apple's App Store and Google Play under their respective policies. Both stores honor refund requests within a short window after purchase. If something is wrong on our side that prevents you from using what you paid for, email info@suddenlycanadian.app and we'll work with you directly.

Do you sell my data, run ads, or upsell within the app?

No. No ads, no data monetization, no subscription upgrades, no premium tier that holds your existing work hostage. The journey unlocks are the only product. Read the security model →

I run a settlement, refugee, or immigration-aid organization — what do we pay?

Nothing — and neither do the families you help. Verified Canadian settlement organizations, refugee services, immigration-aid nonprofits, and pro-bono advocates get SUDCAN Studio Professional for your own team (free, in perpetuity) plus a supply of pre-provisioned 100% discount codes for the Whole Crew — All In! bundle — one per family, covering up to six applicants on both journeys. For larger families, additional top-up codes are issued on request. Read the full commitment →

What's SUDCAN Studio pricing?

SUDCAN Studio is the planned desktop companion, in four editions (Express, Personal, Professional, IRCC). Pricing has not been finalized — it's set well after the mobile app ships and we have real usage data. Preview the editions →
